Setting aside money for your family’s future post-secondary education is common sense but uncommon, especially for those struggling to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table. Ending the cycle of poverty takes sacrifice, commitment, and a strategy like S5, an original concept in my book Canadians’ Education Funding Guide.
S5 = Simply Save Some Separately Sooner
Simply – Because there’s no need to make this complex.
Save – An action, a mindset, and hopefully a habit.
Some – How much is up to you – some is better than none. Take baby steps towards your goal.
Separately – For example, a change jar, then deposit in a separate account, so you can’t spend it.
Sooner – ASAP. Every habit has a start. This maximizes compounding.
“The best thing about procrastination is that you can start it right away” – Larry Miils
